Embracing All of Our Parts Have you ever noticed how easy it is to love certain parts of yourself while wishing other parts would simply disappear? We welcome the joyful, loving, capable parts. The ones who show up, get things done, care for others, and seem to have it all together. But what about the parts of us that feel angry, afraid, jealous, exhausted, insecure, or overwhelmed? Those parts deserve love, too. Somewhere along the way, many of us learned that certain feelin

Many of us move through life disconnected from the natural rhythms of the body — rushing from one responsibility to another, overriding exhaustion, pushing through stress, and learning to measure our worth through productivity rather than presence. Over time, this constant state of urgency can leave the nervous system feeling overwhelmed, fatigued, anxious, emotionally disconnected, or unable to fully rest. Grounding is not about becoming perfectly calm or “getting it right.”

There are moments in healing when the invitation is not to push harder, think more, or strive toward becoming someone new. The invitation is simply this: Can I begin to trust my body again? For many people, this is not a simple question. The body may have once carried fear, overwhelm, grief, chronic stress, trauma, illness, hypervigilance, or years of disconnection. It may have felt safer to leave the body than to remain fully present within it. Many of us learned to override

Have you ever wondered why your body sometimes feels calm and connected, while other times it feels anxious, tense, shut down, restless, or overwhelmed? Polyvagal theory offers a compassionate way to understand these shifts. In simple terms, it helps explain how your nervous system responds to safety, stress, and threat. Your body is always listening. Without you needing to think about it, your nervous system is constantly asking: *Am I safe? Do I need to protect myself? Can

Gentle Healing Through the Wisdom of the Nervous System In the world of trauma healing, words like *titration* and *pendulation* have become increasingly common — and for good reason. These nervous system-centered approaches offer a gentler, more sustainable pathway toward healing than the old belief that we must relive or “push through” overwhelming experiences in order to recover. Originally rooted in somatic trauma work, titration refers to the practice of approaching heal

There can be a quiet pressure to do it all. To understand every pattern. To process every emotion. To finally feel... complete. And when you begin a healing path, this pressure can grow stronger. As if there is somewhere to get to. Something to finish. A version of you waiting on the other side who has it all resolved. But the body does not move this way. The Pace of the Body The body heals in rhythms, not deadlines. It opens... and then it rests. It touches something tender.

There are moments when you understand something in your mind... and yet, your body does not feel resolved. You can name the pattern. You can trace the story. You can even see where it began. And still... something remains. A tension. A holding. A quiet disconnection that thinking alone cannot reach. This is often where somatic healing begins. Beyond Talking About the Past Talking can bring awareness. It can offer insight, language, and understanding. And sometimes, it is not

There are moments when your body responds before you have time to think. A tightening in the chest. A sudden urge to leave. A shutting down that feels quiet, but distant. You may wonder why this happens. Why something small can feel like too much. Why your body moves in ways you don't always choose. This is not a failure of control. This is protection. When the Body Moves to Protect Fight, flight, and freeze are not problems to solve. They are ancient, intelligent responses d

There are moments when something inside you feels unsettled... not broken, not wrong—just not at rest. You may not have words for it. Only a quiet awareness that something in your body is holding... or bracing... or waiting. Trauma-informed healing begins here. Not with fixing, but with listening. What Trauma-Informed Healing Really Means Trauma-informed healing is not a technique. It is a way of being. It is the understanding that your body carries experiences— moments of ov

There is a place within me that has listened for a very long time. A place that has sat at the edge of sorrow, at the threshold of silence, at the quiet return of breath after holding too much for too long. The medicine woman in me does not rush. She does not fix. She does not force. She listens... until something true begins to speak. I have come to understand that healing is not something we do to ourselves. It is something we allow. Not through urgency, not through pressur
